Read-only by design.

Cashews can see what you spent. It can never move your money. That is not a promise buried in a policy, it is how the product is built. Here is exactly what we can and cannot see, in plain language.

What we can see. Transactions and balances from the accounts you choose to connect, with read-only access. That is what powers your Spent So Far number, recurring charge detection, and insights.

What we can never see or do. You log in at your bank, through Plaid, the same connection service used by Venmo and American Express. Your bank credentials never touch our servers, and nobody at Cashews can see them. Our connections cannot initiate transfers or payments of any kind.

What we do with your data. We use it to show you your spending. That is the whole list. Cashews only makes money from subscriptions, so we will never share or sell your data. No ads, no data brokers.

How it is protected. Cashews takes many precautions to protect your data, including using AES-256 encryption to secure your data at rest and TLS encryption to safeguard it while in transit.

Delete anything, anytime. You can delete your account from Settings inside the app, and your data goes with it. You can also request deletion here.
